appraisals:
What is the process to obtain an appraisal?
Each appraisal scenario is different. Typically the appraiser and client will determine the purpose of the appraisal and what items will be appraised. Next the appraiser will inspect the work first hand, documenting attributes, condition and photographing each piece for the final report. They will also review any paperwork the client can provide. Next the appraiser begins the report writing portion of the appraisal by completing object description and researching value by thoroughly investigating pertinent market information. Finally the appraiser will produce the U.S.P.A.P. compliant written report which can be used by whom ever the client has designated an intended user, for instance Insurance Adjusters, the I.R.S., Financial Advisors or Attorneys, among others.
